Your God is too small
Bible Text: Ephesians 3:20-21 | Preacher: Pastor Jon Nelson | Series: Where do I belong?
“Where do I belong?” is our new sermon series as we are walking through the book of Ephesians. It also is a question of balancing the roles of being a follower of Jesus while at the same time the everyday life of work and home. Ephesians gives us deeply practical advice on church, marriage, parenting, forgiveness and much more all while exalting the sovereignty of God. The advice is rooted deeply in how our great God loves us in the same way.
This week we walk through Ephesians 3:20 – 21 where we discuss Paul’s benediction and transition to the practical section of Ephesians. This passage is the key passage in the entire book of Ephesians. It provides us with a bridge, or a transition, from the doctrine contained in the first three chapters of Ephesians to the more practical application of that doctrine in the last three chapters. It causes us to look back and see how the power of God has already been at work in our lives. And it causes us to look forward to see how that same power gives us the ability to live a life that brings God glory.
Our Big Idea for this week was “Your God is too small!”
