God’s love > stagnation
Bible Text: Hosea 2:2-13 | Preacher: Pastor Jon Nelson, Various Artists | Series: Greater than…
Hosea is a story of a broken vow, a broken home, a broken heart and a broken life. God has chosen to reveal this sad story through a broken-hearted prophet, so that he and his people will understand God’s faithfulness and unrelenting love. God never gives up on His people. God never gives up on you. Others may give up on you, or you may even give up on yourself, but not God.
We live with the mistaken impression that our lives belong exclusively to ourselves. The truth is we belong to God. We have been bought by the precious blood of Christ. This Sunday we explored the first half of Hosea chapter two and found that the path that leads us away from God is a mighty poor stretch of road. Hosea is filled with the passion, hope, love, of God but also with the judgment and terror of God upon sin.
Soul Tattoo: Spiritual desertion (like marital desertion) is a choice that does not have to be permanent.
