GENEROSITY
We believe in the power of generosity, what it does for the individual doing the giving, and for the purpose that the giving supports. We have a tremendous opportunity to honor God with our lives – the greatest of all our possessions. What is the purpose of my stewardship? Note the first three words of Proverbs 3:9-10 “Honor the Lord” This should be our single most important goal in life – to honor God. “Those who honor Me, I will honor” 1 Samuel 2:30.The New Testament teaches us to be grace givers – we give out of a heart of gratitude and love because we want to. Our money is a reflection of what is on the inside of us and our Lord Jesus spoke about this subject often. Over one-third of His thirty-eight parables deal with the way we handle our possessions. One out of every six verses in the gospels of Matthew, Mark, and Luke discuss the proper use of material goods. The Lord Jesus says the way we get, guard, and give our money is a good indicator of our own spiritual progress.
One of God’s expectations of His people is that we will reflect His generous blessings in the way we seek to bless others. The model He provides to us is one of a loving father who withholds nothing good from His children; He always takes care of our needs sufficiently. In like manner, we are to be generous in how we give His resources to address the needs of others. We believe that everything comes from God. We only pass through this way once. We are merely stewards along this journey.Thank you for entrusting your resources to Soma and assisting us in the ministry of reaching people for Jesus and growing them as His disciples.
